Angie Sommer, S.E. is an Associate at ZFA Structural Engineers in San Francisco. She’s currently a project manager and engineer for a wide variety of projects around the Bay Area and California, with a focus on the educational and senior living sectors. With many years of experience in wood-frame, high-end residential design, her more recent projects have included structural steel, concrete tilt-up walls, and cold-formed steel framing. Angie prides herself on her excellent communication skills, ability to view each project holistically, and capacity to understand and meet client needs.
She's involved in a variety of industry organizations, including the San Francisco chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW SF), and the Structural Engineer’s Association of Northern California (SEAONC). She was previously the 2016-17 co-chair of the SEAONC Structural Engineering Engagement and Equity (SE3) Committee and was the lead author of the 2016 SE3 Survey Report. The SE3 Project was established in 2015 with the mission to study and work to improve engagement and equity in the structural engineering profession. SE3 aims to advance the profession by engaging all structural engineers regardless of gender, age, experience, job title, firm, size, or location.
On top of all that, Angie is the co-founder of Vow Muse, a business that helps people craft unique wedding toasts, speeches, and vows.
